The University of Deusto is offering eight (8) research positions for young scholars interested in writing their doctoral dissertations within larger research projects housed at the University. There are twenty-one (21) topics for recruitment grouped in four (4) focus areas. The research topic  “History Education and its contribution to peace building: The role of museums, literature and film as sites for a critical understanding of the violent past” is included under the focus area  “Human Rights, Peace and Conflict Resolution.”

The call invites applicants to submit a brief thesis proposal responding to the main goals and objectives of one of the research positions offered.  Selected candidates will be awarded a 3-year research contract at Deusto University to complete their doctoral degree and thesis project under the supervision of the corresponding principal investigator – research team.  These positions are supported and co-funded by the European Commission through the Horizon 2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie COFUND Programme.

Please share this information with outstanding young scholars interested in conducting research on historical memory, history education and peace education. Applicants must have earned a Masters degree in a related area, and have an advanced command of English. An adequate command of Spanish is advisable but not required.
