COST Action IS 1205 is organising a conference looking at collective memories of fascism and its current resurgence in Europe.

The 2-day event includes an interdisciplinary workshop devoted to scientific exchanges and a conference open to a wide audience comprising academics, students and interested members of the general public. The conference will include two keynote speeches and a roundtable:

  • Keynote History Prof. Roger Griffin (Oxford Brooks University): The Pregnant Bitch: The persistence and evolution of fascism in Post-war Europe
  • Keynote Social Psychology Prof. Steve Reicher (University of St Andrews): On the appeal of the extreme: Why do people listen to authoritarian leaders? 
  • Roundtable discussion on Golden Dawn (Thalia Dragona, Aleka Koronaiou, Antonis Liakos, and Dimitris Psarras)
