Global Network for Justice. Conflict. Responsibility
The Global Network for Justice. Conflict. Responsibility is a new research and collaboration hub at the University of Melbourne (Criminology). The Network will provide a public platform to consider urgent matters of justice in Australia and abroad. It intends to operate as a forum for building partnerships and promoting knowledge exchange between academic institutions, government, NGOs and other agencies focused specifically on practices of justice in Australia and other communities that live with conflict and injustice.
We would like to invite you to join us in launching and conceptualising the Network. On Monday and Tuesday October 24-25th 2016, we are holding an interactive symposium with key stakeholders from community, NGO, policy, activist and academic arenas. We have speakers, both international and national, including Angela Davis, Jackie Huggins, Celeste Liddle, Debbie Kilroy, Adrian Little, Mark McMillan, Hugh de Kretser, Phoebe Wynn-Pope, Tamar Hopkins, Shelley Mallett, Shen Narayanasamy, Meghan Fitzgerald, Mammad Aidani, Denise Cauchi, John Patten and others, whose contributions will guide our conversation. We are also thrilled to be able to present excerpts from the groundbreaking verbatim theatre performance Coranderrk: We Will Show the Country (La Mama Theatre).
Please register at https://2em.wufoo.com/forms/w1wbe4nm1ed3456/
Earlybird registration is $220 and includes lunch, morning tea and afternoon tea both days, a public lecture on the Monday evening by Distinguished Professor Emerita Angela Davis and a reception beforehand.
