On Tuesday March 17, 2015, the Center for Historical Culture organizes the symposium
Representing Genocide at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Speakers are Andrej Kotljarchuk
(Stockholm University) and Laurike in ‘t Veld (University of Chichester). The symposium will
address issues of representing genocides by focussing on two cases: the massacre of Roma at
Babi Yar in Soviet and Ukrainian historical culture and the use of visual metaphors in graphic
novels dealing with genocide.
