We are pleased to announce the first ever interdisciplinary Graduate Student Conference in Literature and Cultural Studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago hosted by graduate students from different departments in the School of Literatures, Cultural Studies and Linguistics (LCSL). The organizing committee includes students from the Germanic Studies, Slavic and Baltic Languages and Literatures and Hispanic and Italian Studies departments. The conference will take place on April 10-11, 2015. This year’s title is “Converging Narratives: the Personal Meets the National” and will focus on the theme of personal narratives in an age of transnationalism and globalization. Our first keynote speaker is graphic novelist Marzena Sowa. Our second keynote is TBA.
