Visiting Fellows Program

To enhance academic contacts and international presence at the departments and centres that constitue Uppsala Forum on Democracy, Peace and Justice, the Uppsala Forum Visiting Fellows Program provides an opportunity to invite scholars and prominent practitioners to spend time at one of the Uppsala Forum departments or centres. During the stay, the visiting fellow is expected to work in a multi-disciplinary field or with a cross-disciplinary potential that is relevant for a broader group of academic colleagues. While ample time is given for research, the visiting fellow is also expected to join in relevant seminar activities and give supervision to PhD students in her or his own field of expertise. The visit may further be aimed at establishing long-term collaboration between researchers or research groups within the Uppsala Forum and the visiting fellow’s institution.

The fellowship covers costs for travel and lodging. The applicant is a researcher at one of the Uppsala Forum departments or centres. The applicant applies on behalf of the visiting fellow. The department of the applicant is expected to make an office available for the whole duration of the stay. Applications are to be signed by the Head of Department.

As a main rule, the visit is to take place within one year from the date of application deadline.

Applications should be sent to; Research Director Martin Kragh, Uppsala Forum on Democracy, Peace and Justice, Uppsala Centre for Russian and Eurasian Studies, Box 514, 751 20 Uppsala. / Martin.Kragh@ucrs.uu.se
