Native Americans Mark Anniversary of Massacre At Wounded Knee

December 29 marked the 121st anniversary of the Massacre at Wounded Knee. In December 1890, around 300 unarmed Lakota Sioux people were killed by U.S. troops.

A number of commentators marked the anniversary by drawing attention to the need to confront the past, calling for a full apology to native Americans.
